A little about Eric...

Eric Leadbetter was born in Bozeman, MT, where he draws a lot of inspiration from the tall mountains to the cold smoke.

His musical career started in 2003 when he recorded his first solo album, Eric’s cosmic kitchen in St Louis, MO.  He then moved to Boulder, CO in 2003 and started playing out in local coffee shops and small bars. In 2006 he established the rock n roll band, Jive Coulis, with some good friends from high school. They traveled to over 20 states performing in the veggie oil powered school bus, Sharleena.  Jive Coulis recorded 4 all-original albums of Eric’s music. Jive Coulis retired in 2017 and Leadbetter Band was born.  Eric Leadbetter Band has released 4 albums since 2018, including;

Leadbetter Band-2019

Howl-2021

Cake-2023

Spell-2025

Eric also released an acoustic solo album “Middle ground” in 2020.

Currently, he lives in southwest Montana and plays gigs constantly in the Northwest. Whether solo, duo, or full band he is always gigging, as well as teaching guitar and songwriting. He plays an average of 240+ shows a year, and loves sharing his music with new audiences.

Eric has continued to evolve and find creative ways to bring music into the Pacific Northwest, and online communities. In 2021 Leadbetter Band opened for the legendary ZZ Top at the Britt amphitheater - an experience for the books! Other artists he has shared the stage by opening for include;

Marcus King, Thunderstorm Artis, MarchForth, John Mayall, Leftover Salmon, Rob Wynia of Floater, Duane Betts Band , Blues Traveller, Govt Mule and many more!

His original music is very unique, with echoes of the golden ages of rock. He draws his musical inspiration from these eras by listening to a vast collection of classic vinyl.

“I want my music to not only reach people’s ears in a sweet and engaging way, but also to challenge the mind and inspire the heart and soul. I have creatively explored music very deeply in my life, and I see no end to the amount of musical wisdom to be gained.  It is an honor for me to be able to share my musical expression with people that are open and willing.”

Band History

Leadbetter Band was born in 2017, featuring Eric Leadbetter’s original songs. The music vibe is vast and diverse. From a vintage rock sound with heavy/light jam sections, to a unique contemporary eclectic melting pot of songwriting styles. The rhythm section is pro and tight featuring Aaron Moore on Bass and vocals, and Kaleb Kelleher on Drum set and back up vocals. This Band is unique for many reasons, but having two lead vocalists (Leadbetter/ Moore) is pretty entertaining and memorable.  They focus performances mainly on original music, but the ocassional cover song choices are tasteful and all over the sacred map of rock history. The first album, self titled, was released in 2019. Off the album are hard rock favorites like “Grand misconception” and bluesy “challenge me”. The second full length album, “howl” was released in 2021. Both of those albums had Patrick Pearsall on bass and Dylan Bernal on drums. In March of 2023, the bands 3rd studio album “Cake” was released. It was tracked, produced, and recorded by legendary Seattle Producer Joe Reineke at Temple of the Trees studio. In 2024 the band toured extensively through the PNW and played music festivals in many states including, cascade equinox festival, Wieser river festival, Klamath music festival, and many more. They opened for the legendary ZZ Top at the Britt amphitheater in August 2021 and the Britt side stage for blues traveler in 2022, and Govt Mule in 2023. The band is based out of Bend, OR and plays shows around the pacific northwest and beyond, entertaining and captivating music hungry listeners.  Leadbetter Band delivers a stunning and engaging live performance that is not to be missed. Leadbetter Duo A fun addition to Eric's solo music is another player!  Eric plays duo shows with several different musicians on different instruments.  It is such a fun time to mix it up and invite different folks to jump in! Friends like; Pete Kartsounes Patrick Pearsall Aaron Moore Conner Bennett And more!
